Disney Be Our Guest Restaurant Review – our honest opinion. Is it worth the high price point and the time away from rides at Magic Kingdom?

From inside and out, the theming at Be Our Guest is pretty incredible. It has all of the elements from Beauty and the Beast that you would expect, minus the rose garden.
Although Beast makes an appearance at Be Our Guest, it is not considered a Character Dining experience.
He is not guaranteed to appear during your meal (though he usually does) and when he makes an appearance, he walks through the dining rooms without stopping at the tables.
There is also no meet-and-greet opportunity like there is with Evil Queen at Storybook Dining. This is why Be Our Guest is considered Signature Dining instead of Character Dining.

The Dining Rooms
There are 3 dining rooms at Be Our Guest and each dining room has it’s own theme and vibe.
- The Grand Ballroom is the main dining room and where we were seated. The room is gorgeous and looks like the ballroom from the animated movie. The windows even have projections to make it look like it’s snowing.
- This dining room can be a bit loud due to the size and number of guests, especially if you’re seated in the middle.
- The West Wing is off of the main dining room and is a much smaller room. It’s darker, moodier, more intimate, and has amazing theming.
- There are occasional flashes of light (lightning) and loud noises so I would avoid dining in this room if those are sensory sensitivities. Even if you aren’t seated in The West Wing, you can walk in and check out the details and see the Enchanted Rose.
- The Rose Gallery is also off of the Grand Ballroom, opposite of the West Wing. It’s much quieter, has consistent lighting that isn’t too bright or too dark, and is beautifully decorated with portraits and rose details. This dining room is the most sensory-friendly of the three.

Be Our Guest Menu
The menu is pre-fixe and each guest gets to choose an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. There is complimentary bread for the table.
There are Adult menus, a children’s menu, and an allergy menu available.

menu Notes
Always check the current menu for the most up-to-date menu and pricing.
Appetizers
First course was bread and you could choose from an assortment of different appetizers. The baguette was delicious AND there was a gluten free option – Tapioca Dinner Rolls!
Adam got the Mixed Green Salad, the girls got the fruit and cheese plate and iceberg salad, and I chose the French Onion Soup au Gratin.
The cheese plate was a little disappointing, there were only two pieces of cheese and a small amount of fruit. The iceberg salad was also a little underwhelming. The mixed green salad is just your typical salad, nothing special. But the French Onion Soup au Gratin was delicious.

Entrées
The adult menu entrees were pretty decent. Adam really enjoyed the filet mignon and I thought the short rib bourguignon was very good.
Again, the kids menu items were a bit of a miss. The sweet potatoes were “meh” and the sautéed squash could have been cooked a bit longer. I thought it was diced cucumber when it first came out.
At least they had our youngest’s safe food – Mac and cheese. Don’t forget to ask (like we did) for the sides to be on separate plates if you need that.
There are enhancements that you can add to your entrée, but we chose not to.

Desserts
The desserts seem to change more often than the entrées or appetizers. At the time we went, the dessert was a trio of “The Grey Stuff”, a Chocolate Truffle, and a French Macaron.
The gluten free modification for “The Grey Stuff” was serving it in a bowl instead of the tart shell. The French Macaron and Truffle are naturally gluten free.
The girls still chose the children’s dessert so they could paint their own chocolate teacups. Dessert was, by far, their favorite course!

Final Thoughts
Are we glad we tried it? Yes, but…
This is a tough one for us because we really wanted to love it and say YES this is a MUST. But the food was mediocre and not up to par with the very high price point.
Seeing the inside of Beast’s castle was neat and the theming of the dining rooms, especially The West Wing (pictured below), were something I’m glad we got to experience.
I could see us coming back if this was transformed into a true character dining experience and if some modifications to the menu were made. This was a one and done for us unless those changes were made.
One thing that would make this a truly amazing experience and “bucket list” item would be if Disney added animatronics. Mrs. Potts and Chip whizzing around on a cart, Lumière and Cogsworth greeting you at the dining room entrance, or Plumette dusting in a corner would be such an immersive and magical touch.

I’ve heard the food was meh here and part of me wants to try for the experience of eating inside of the Beast’s castle but it’s hard to justify the cost for a prix fixe meal. I’ll try this place out one day just not anytime soon LOL
The experience was definitely unique and unlike any other “Character” or Signature dining on property. But yeah, it’s very pricey. Especially if you have kids over 10 and you’re paying the adult prix fixe price for a kid’s meal.
